Assam Police have arrested two people, including a retired Indian Army jawan working on a contractual basis, in an alleged Pakistan-linked espionage case. The accused are suspected of sharing sensitive information related to Indian Army movements with Pakistani intelligence operatives. One of the accused has been identified as Abhishek Kumar Singh, a 31-year-old Bihar resident, who was arrested by the Assam STF in Guwahati. Police said mobile phones, SIM cards and documents were recovered during the operation. A second suspect was subsequently arrested as investigators probe the wider network. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said preliminary reports suggest the accused may have been honey-trapped to extract sensitive information.
