Tamil Nadu’s two Assembly bypolls in Madurantakam and Dharapuram have turned into a major early test for Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his TVK government. Voting concluded on October 6, with Madurantakam recording 83.86% polling and Dharapuram 78.53% as per the Election Commission’s 3 pm figures. The contests have featured TVK, DMK and AIADMK, with the two seats becoming particularly significant because the former AIADMK MLAs who won in April later resigned and joined Vijay’s TVK.The polling day also saw minor EVM/VVPAT glitches at several booths. In Madurantakam, voting was briefly halted after a complaint over a visible mark near the TVK candidate’s whistle symbol.A separate viral video from Dharapuram showed an elderly voter alleging that a polling official asked her to press the TVK whistle symbol. The official was subsequently removed from polling duty; the allegation remains an allegation. n18oc_brass-tacksn18oc_indiaNews18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube
